Red Bucket Equine Rescue # 323- Clementine

No…you are not seeing double…Please meet Clementine, our newest resident. On the surface, Clementine might resemble Klondike, and they have a few things in common. They were both only hours away from slaughter, they are both white mules, they arrived together thanks in great part to the same Good Samaritan who could not bear to see them perish in a Mexican slaughter plant…and they were both thrown away without respect or dignity. That is where the similarities stop. While Klondike is nosy and confident, Clementine is timid and fearful. Klondike is BIG…Clementine is dainty. Klondike likes to be touched…Clementine fears being touched. The good news is that every day we spend time making small “deposits” into Clementine’s previously empty “bank account”. Slowly she is learning that people can be kind, gentle and trustworthy…and she has quickly learned that treats are delicious and come served with a red bucket…and a promise! Oh yes, and there is one more similarity; both Klondike and Clementine are safe, wanted, and on their journey to happily ever after! Welcome Clementine!
