What Red Bucket Means to Rexanne and Thomas

What does Red Bucket mean to you? – Growing up with horses, I always valued the connection between horse and rider. However, taking a horse that has nothing and giving him comfort, compassion, understanding, and love, creates a connection like none I have experienced before. I have had the privilege of being able to volunteer in many capacities: fundraisers, planning committees, coordinating farrier services for the over 30 Red Bucket horses at the Huntington Beach Equestrian Center, and my favorite, being a member of the Red Bucket Training Support Team. Each horse I work with is unique, with different needs. To provide a training regimen that is tailored to their individual needs has been rewarding. To know I am helping horses find their forever homes, what a gift!

Red Bucket is truly an organization that does what is right for the horse, even when the right decision is difficult. Thomas, seeing my passion for this organization, quickly began helping at fundraisers and offering his technical knowledge. He was instrumental in helping RBER have the web presence it needed, and he proudly serves as the Red Bucket Webmaster.

When we decided to retire our beloved Skeeter, we were delighted to be able to add a Red Bucket horse to our family. Striker has found his forever home, and we will be forever grateful to the Red Bucket organization, which has become family and truly changed our lives.

Love,
Rexanne and Thomas Anderson

What Red Bucket says about Rexanne and Thomas – Rexanne and Thomas, one of our married volunteer duos, bring a diversified skill set to Red Bucket. Rexanne has been sharing her gifts with our horses since the very beginning. As a member of our Training Support Team, Rex participates in training our horses in preparation for their Forever Homes. She also supports our newly adopted horses and their new families. Rex brings a wonderful balance of superhuman patience and a deep understanding of horse behavior. While her skill set is an asset for the work that we do in serving our horses, one of the greatest of Rexanne’s attributes is her willingness to serve others. Rex has a wonderful quality of pitching in and offering a hand whenever it is needed.

Thomas has a similar trait, in that he recognized the importance of having a credible and professional website. In sharing his gift of website design, we have also seen Thomas’ tremendous resilience and patience. Similar to Rex, Thomas has pitched in, often getting stuck with less than glamorous jobs, like single-handedly manning a BBQ with no shade and no breaks, because that was what we needed. Red Bucket is grateful to have Rex and Thomas. They are both dedicated to our horses, our rescue, and the cause that we all work towards daily.
