Harris is a very sweet 16+hh bay thoroughbred mare, foaled in 1989, that has survived a difficult life and yet has a lovely and grateful temperament and nice ground manners. She has some arthritis and and the stiffness of a horse ridden too hard and cared for too little. Harris is currently enjoying pasture life.
The trailer ride home to Red Bucket was not a lonely one for Sawyer, tucked in next to her was 20+ year old Harris, a high risk mare. Harris, also dubbed a “stray” has a bad knee and is significantly under weight. She is making a quick adjustment at RBER, and has already been assigned her Guardian Angel and new best friend, Jenon. Like so many other rescues, she seems surprised by the kindness that is shown to her, and she is grateful. It is an honor for us to serve our four new additions… Parker, Tess, Sawyer and Harris. We are so grateful to care for them, nurture them, and prepare them for their second chance. Thank you all for your support, it is only through your generosity that we can continue our meaningful work.
