Facebook Welcome:
The “Good Guy” had called us clearly panicked. He had been trying for 4 days to get Animal Control and the Police to investigate and help 3 starving horses that were trapped… in the riverbed, they were without water and were clearly suffering in the stifling heat. Within moments of the call coming in, we hitched up our trailer, and followed the directions to the riverbed, relying on the video texted to us by the “good guy”. We half hiked, half slid down the steep embankment and made our way over crooked trails of debris, broken bottles and overgrown weeds and brush. The horses were clearly starving, there was no food in sight….and not a drop of water. That was 3 weeks ago….today, the horses are just about ready to complete their quarantine. They show the obvious signs of abuse…and have the scars to prove it. As for us, we have completed their intake, and will be moving them out to pasture….to clear their heads, gentle their spirits, and give them the gift of time, space, companionship…basically, let hem be horses for a few months. While we cannot undo the past, we can ensure that their future is bright, safe and that they have a forever. Quarantine is over, their lives are just beginning. Welcome Hope, Charity, and Faith!
