Description:
Fern was born in 2007. She is a very pretty wild burro that we rescued from the BLM. She is currently being gentled in preparation for her forever home. She is mother to Cocoa. Her best friend is Lizzie and would love to have a forever home with her.

When we established our rescue and carefully thought through our mission, vision, values and by laws, we intentionally did not specialize in one breed, but rather intentionally set out to help any equine regardless of breed ….or age. Today we welcome two new additions, four month old Cocoa and her mother Fern. While these burro’s are technically wild, they have gentle eyes, curious personalities and a natural innate kindness. They have joined Joey and Lizzie in the donkey paddock and have established a herd of their own…a little family unit. The two little youngsters have become fast friends and have started to play, to bond…and even nap together. We have slowly begun to gain their confidence and trust. We will dedicate the next twelve months to training them and preparing them for their new lives, second chances, and forever homes.
