While we were disappointed that we did not receive the Intuit grant of $5000 that we were intending on using for our dear Presley’s surgery, we operate with a fundamental belief that it is incumbent upon us to take care of the horses in our care. This surgery will offer Presley an opportunity for a future, and a forever family of his own. On Monday, Susan and Kimberly are driving up to Alamo Pintado to check Presley into the hospital. He will have his surgery on Tuesday (Susan and Kimberly will of course be there…no way is he having such a serious surgery without his “family”) and will need to stay in the hospital for one week before coming home. Many sincere thanks to all of you who voted for our little guy ….so many votes of love and support, we will keep you all posted.

We are all breathing a sigh of relief this morning. Presley is snug in his hospital stall at Alamo Pintado recovering from surgery yesterday. His surgeon, the world renowned Dr. Barrie Grant believes that once recovered, Presley stands an excellent chance of having a normal life. As our mission embodies Saving, Retraining and Rehabilitation, AND finding Forever Homes…we couldn’t be happier in providing this opportunity for our sweet little guy, because this means that Presley will one day be adopted! Susan and Kimberly trailered Presley up to the hospital and stayed with him overnight, throughout the surgery, and until he was out of recovery. We will be able to bring him home in about a week. Thank you to all of Presley’s friends who have donated and continue to donate toward his surgery, we are very grateful and will keep you all posted.

Dr. Barrie Grant swung by Alamo Pintado to check on our little patient. Presley is doing well and is eating…like a horse! We should be able to pick him up early next week. To say that we are both relieved…and incredibly grateful would be a gross understatement. Dr. Grant is very optimistic that Presley will have a favorable outcome, and Red Bucket is VERY confident (and committed) that our little buddy will have a magical life!
