While some transformations have the abruptness of skeletal to robust, emaciated to well-fed, coarse to sleek…many might not visually be startling until one looks at an eye that has softened and is no longer skeptical and wary. Hansel was initially saved out of a kill pen by a private rescuer, colleague, and friend of ours. While he came to us in good flesh, he arrived a wary but polite stranger…and seemed to think that Red Bucket was too good to be true. His first few weeks were marked with compliance and a reservation that is generally reserved for strangers. As for today, his eye is soft, his coat is lush, he no longer worries, and one thing is perfectly clear…he loves people much more than horses!
