There are many faces to abuse. There is also a reason that solitary confinement is the most severe form of punishment. Our newest, and perhaps our most benevolent resident is Bruce an eleven year old donkey who not only has been inexcusably neglected……..worse he has been ignored. Herd animals need a herd…or at least a darn good surrogate family. After treating his wounds that have gone far too long without care, and grooming off a full muck bucket of matted hair, we turn our attention to nurturing Bruce, and making him feel welcomed, loved and  treasured.
