We hate to over use a phrase, but haven’t found a replacement that has the same emotional…or spiritual impact. It takes a Village. As we so often do, we pause to reflect, be thankful and acknowledge that we cannot do this deeply meaningfu…l work alone. Thanks to the generosity…and compassion of Cindy A. Lee and the Wags and Menace Make a Difference Foundation these STUNNING, SOUND, HEALTHY, and TRAINED mustangs are SAFE. Foster, Durham and Reynolds are enjoying (and when we say enjoying, boy do we mean it) their time in an extended quarantine, AKA horsey vacation. They have transitioned from defensive, tense, and fearful to playful, frisky and perhaps most poignant of all, peaceful. It is impossible for us to acknowledge the gift of transforming a terrifying and barbaric reality into a LIFE of playing, eating, rolling and the lovely reciprocal ritual of grooming without a significant swelling of emotion in the back of our throat. While later this year we will bring them to the ranch for assessment and additional training in preparation for their forever homes, for now they are enjoying the relaxed and natural environment of pasture. For us, this beautiful picture replaces the cold and brutal reality that these American Horses nearly faced at slaughter. They are safe, and will know, experience and enjoy a life that will be meaningful…and humane. Thank you Cindy A. Lee and the Wags and Menace Make a Difference Foundation, and all those of you who help us help the horses…we cannot do this alone. Thank you!
