The Winter trimester at Red Bucket has begun, and we have a new group willing, hopeful, and eager students. When we saved her, Lily was 2 1/2 years old and starving. She was so emaciated and weak that we didn’t even realize that she wasn’t even really halter trained. As she stared to gain weight…and energy it was apparent that we had our work cut out for us! Fresh from a 6 month stay in pasture…thanks to our good friends and generous supporters Allison and Melvin Reynolds, Lily has just received her first report card…and excellent scores in Citizenship, Effort, and of course, attendance! Lily has lowered her head, dropped her chin, and embraced her course work. Like her sister Tatum, she has demonstrated an eagerness to please…and a willingness to try new things! This week she happily jumped her first jump, and while it is a fair statement to say that Kimberly, Wayne and the entire Red Bucket Team was very proud of her, the greatest satisfaction comes from how proud Lily is of herself!
