She is a very pretty girl….and he in the man of her dreams. Well bred, heck….his father was a champion with an amazing performance record. Play Boy wasn’t always appreciated, admired , or respected…and he certainly wasn’t valued. After being choked down, branded, castrated, and dragged behind a tractor in an effort to “halter train” him, he found himself at an auction where horses are sold by the pound to kill buyers who ship the horses to slaughter in Canada and Mexico. Play Boy was rescued by our friend and rescue colleague who sent him to us for training and a second chance. The training was slow, as trust needed to be built and a story rewritten. The love affair did not take nearly as much time…Lauren fell for the brave, handy, and spectacularly bred gelding who shyly started to whinny for her, and then started to wait for her. He proved to be willing and athletic…he demonstrated a sincerity at learning and a confidence that Lauren was more than his trainer…but his friend and partner. Well, Play Boy doesn’t have to wait any longer….Lauren has sealed the deal with a shaky signature…and a promise of forever. Congratulations to Play Boy and Lauren…and a happily ever after!
