How do you explain the attributes of such a once-in-a-lifetime horse? The words cooperative, easygoing, kind and a heart of gold exemplify the core values found in this month’s beautiful Irish Thoroughbred gelding Guinness. He is completely loved and adored by many, especially the Red Bucket Volunteers. He has been described as the “perfect horse of a lifetime” and came to Red Bucket Equine Rescue eager to please according to his trainer Kimberly Fohrman. Guinness always shows an amazing effort and a great attitude in anything that is asked of him.
He is cute, super honest, and is completely cherished by all who know and work with him. Guinness is his “own guy,” yet he gets along well with both horses and people. He is all around trained, sound, and quite intelligent. Actually, he is BRILLIANT! A flashy little bay with a cute white snip on his nose, Guinness is that uniquely rare and special horse. Kimberly saddle trained this sweet guy to ride both Western and English, and he is very versatile. Guinness is as adept on the trail as he is ready to jump or perform in Gymkhana events. He has a lot of get up and go and has recently competed in the pole bending event. He also carried both his rider and the American Flag in a Gymkhana Flag Ceremony.
As would be expected, he completed this duty effortlessly and with a calm, steady demeanor. In addition to these talents, Guinness is a big mover and does well in dressage. He makes a really cute English ride and would be successful in the Hunter/ Jumper classes. As an all around horse, he suits an intermediate rider. For now, Kimberly rides Guinness Western 5 days a week, and he spends his 2 days off in turn out. With his impeccable manners and remarkable work ethic, Guinness will make someone a very lucky and charmed owner. He has the heart of a lion and is ready for his perfect match to love and bring him to his forever home. It is an amazing combination of wonderful character traits that results in this huge hearted horse. As the saying goes, ”In the end, the size of accomplishments can best be measured by the size of the heart,” and we at Red Bucket know that the size of Guinness’s heart is absolutely limitless!
