Red Bucket has just celebrated our 6th anniversary! During this time, we have been privileged to save 273 horses from slaughter, starvation and unspeakable abuse. 159 of these horses have been safely placed in loving homes, and we have helped hundreds of other horses behind the scenes who never came to our ranch, but who were saved……and cared about. Deaglan and Galway, both trained Hanoverians, were rescued from a slaughter auction where they had been dumped by their owner, a self-proclaimed “lover of the sport horse”. They came to us in extreme pain, and Galway, in anguish. Today, due to his age and injuries, Galway is a permanent resident at Red Bucket and is enjoying his well-deserved retirement complete with all the perks associated with “boyfriend” status….and yes, that means he has a great many Red Riding Hoods who dote on him…and flirt! Deaglan (also a two-timing hunk of a Hanoverian) has just been given the “thumbs-up” from Dr. Adrienne Moore to start slowly back to work. This stunning and gentle giant will make some lucky adopter a horse of a lifetime. Many thanks for Dr. Moore’s selfless support, healing hands, and generous heart, and for guiding us in their rehabilitation, quality of life, and wellness. Thank you to all who have participated on every level in supporting our beautiful work…and Happy Birthday, Red Bucket!
