Deaglan and Galway

They had been owned by a woman who was a self-proclaimed lover of the Hanoverian. When she was done with them, and the others, she was known for dumping them at a livestock auction that sells horses by the pound…….to kill buyers. In 2013 we were deeply and profoundly grateful to have been in a position (thankfully tipped off by a caring friend) to rescue two of her recently dumped Warmbloods. Both Deaglan and Galway were not without issues, having most likely spent many years being over-worked, over-faced, and used beyond their capacity or capability. It was evident that they had been crashed into fences long after they had the physical wherewithal to safely clear the jumps. During the course of their tenure at Red Bucket, a ranch that they now own, both horses have awakened to a life of tenderness, respect, safety….and dignity. Thanks to the generous mindset, skillful hands, and giving heart of Dr. Adrienne Moore, both horses have received regular chiropractic treatments and been given tremendous relief from what had been significant and chronic pain. Up until this week, the two “boys” have enjoyed a gentle period of careful rehabilitation. While Galway, who is much older and more damaged, will retain his well-deserved position of gentle retirement, Deaglan is just starting the next phase of his rehabilitation. With a bit of beauty treatment, our lovely and benevolent gentleman is slowly being conditioned for his next role…one of a forever horse. It is not without a great deal of emotion and puddling eyes that we transition our fluffy polar teddy to tier one, which is the active and goal-oriented stage and the next step that will leave a lucky adopter pinching themselves with delight. Meanwhile, Galway and Deaglan will continue to enjoy sunny turnouts and the companionship of one another….and we will continue to treasure them both.
