This week Red Bucket turns seven years old! Perhaps a picture is worth 1,000 words…or hundreds of horses saved and re-homed. Yes, this is Dashiel jumping a park bench in a cross country clinic in Wales! Dashiel was adopted 6 years ago and represents the 321 horses saved and the nearly 200 horses that Red Bucket has placed into loving, safe and permanent homes! Dashiel, like so many of our horses, came to us a victim of starvation, abuse, and unconscionable neglect. Today he is a treasured family member, and more than just a partner to his pre-teen rider, he is her safety net. Like so many of the previously abused, unwanted and discarded, Dashiel has known suffering and the fear associated with being both unwanted and homeless. Our rescued animals repay our small kindnesses by protecting us, loving us…and in the case of Dashiel…jumping just about anything (even a park bench) for the one that he loves!
