While most of us love a real life Cinderella story, the “ashes-to-forever-after” story of our beautiful Delilah is bound to produce goosebumps on even the hottest of days. Delilah came to us starving, hopeless, suffering from a painful and untreated infection, and within hours of being sent to slaughter. But final tragedy was not to befall her as she came to Red Bucket…and being one of the “Mighty Irish”, had a ten…acity and intelligence that made her a standout. Of course, like her 41 siblings…39 of which we have already placed into adoring homes, she displayed an athleticism, work ethic, and outstanding character that made her a joy to train, a privilege to ride, and a cinch to love. Love her we did…enough, of course, to make sure that she finally found a forever home of her own. Louise, a long-time donor and multi-time adopter, keeps pinching herself with her good fortune to have such a wonderful horse. Delilah too seems grateful, and has been reunited with Bruce and Cinnamon, a donkey and pony that Louise adopted from us in prior years. We would call this a Red Bucket Hat Trick…and another wonderful happily-ever-after. Congratulations, Louise and Delilah!
