Red Bucket Equine Rescue Forever Home # 83- Hobby
Cathy had been a good daughter, received good grades, and been lucky in that she had good parents, and a delightful childhood. Her horses had been part of the memories that she has carried in her heart, and from time to time they had percolated by way of tears, when she recounted the blissful childhood and vacancy of a horse in her life. As an adult, she has been a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and doting grandmother….and a very good volunteer. She always put her family first, certainly before her own pleasure or very deep desires and yearnings, and as a matter of routine, sacrificed her own long lost dreams for others. While she would have preferred to help by way of curry comb, where here senses could be filled with the sights, smells and touch of horses, that too, she would sacrifice. She had sometimes long periods of not being able to be here physically, she would be found baking “Red Bucket Signature Cookies” or crafting horse shoes into the late hours, still carving out ways to help us help the horses. Her husband, finally gave her the mandate (by way of loving approval) that we had all been hoping for. Today on her granddaughters 7th birthday, Cathy adopted Hobby. The tears of today are not the longing, bitter sweet tears of a chapter long ago read, dog eared, and buried with a book that was never completed. Rather the tears are for a joy so overwhelming in the resurgence and revival of a dream that Cathy would not even allow herself to contemplate. Oh…what about Hobby? Well, Hobby has a family of his very own, and Cathy has her horse. We already know how Cathy treats her family members, so we figure the next chapter of the book will be a magical page turner….and the story is guaranteed a happily ever after ending. Congratulations Cathy and Hobby. xxoo.
