Piper Update

So much of our work is rescuing…and then carefully, thoughtfully,  and intentionally preparing our horses for their forever homes. It is “heads down” work, in the trenches…walking colics, bandaging wounds, delivering carefully prepared …meals to starving horses, training, patiently restoring trust that has been completely shattered. Our work is a labor of love, a devotion to serving, and a commitment to the future. Today we pull our heads up, if only for a moment. Today we celebrate the 79 horses that have been successfully placed in loving forever homes. Piper, who we rescued with dozens of of other severely emaciated horses only hours before they were to ship to slaughter, frolics and gleefully rolls in the wonderful new pasture that  is “home”. HOME is now with Laura, and glorious Santino. HOME is where she is safe, fed, protected…cherished. While our work is heads down in the trenches, and our hearts are in saving and serving the horses entrusted to our care, our eye is on the end game of finding the perfect forever home for every single horse that we serve. Our “end game”, however, is just the beginning, for every horse who is place and begins their second chance. Happy joyful life to Laura and Piper!!
