Willow had been hours away from being shipped to slaughter when she was rescued by Red Bucket in May of 2009. A victim of circumstance, this beautiful, intelligent and well-bred horse was not only unwanted…she was emaciated, untrained, and desperate. Two years ago today, Willow was adopted into her forever home by Shona. Today Willow is yet another perfect example of a rescue horse turned family horse…trained, healthy, sound, and above all, loved! While Willow’s life has dramatically changed, Shona’s life was also impacted. In January of 2015, Shona moved Willow back to Red Bucket. Shona, wanting to help other horses like Willow and other adopters like herself, joined the Red Bucket Leadership Team as our Head Trainer. Congratulations Shona and Willow!
