As rescuers, we know that darkness can bring light. Often we just do not realize it when we are at the bottom of what appears to be an impenetrable black abyss, until we begin the long climb back into daylight. Four years ago, our good friend Betty adopted Pearl from Red Bucket. Truly the match was a perfect blend of a doting, devoted and loving adopter and a deserving horse who had just barely survived the imminent threat of slaughter and a lifetime of cruelty. Betty’s precious “Pearly Girl” recently died from complications due to colic. Betty was left devastated…and then numb from the shock and grief of losing her beloved horse and friend. We are delighted to announce that Betty has chosen to adopt Bonnie Blue Jeans, and is finding joy in nurturing another lovely mare who is quickly finding a pathway to a new, unique and meaningful friendship. Congratulations to Betty, who truly deserves her new horse Bonnie Blue Jeans. We wish them both a host of happy memories and days filled with light, love, and the gentle reassurance of the commitment of forever.
