Red Bucket Equine Rescue Forever Home Found #186 – Justin

confeddy and justine 1.22.16Susan and Justin FH day
He had once been a celebrated, trained and respected mounted patrol horse…then the unthinkable happened. His loving owner died without providing specific instructions in his will. Justin was starved down to a body score of 1…and only then was he going to be put down. We thank the village that linked arms to do the right thing; Becky for caring enough to contact us, our treasured rescue partner Kristine Overly for initially taking him and caring for him until we could, and our friend Marlene Dodge, for everything in between. We were amazed by this little horse…his kindness, character…and of course like so many of the rescued, his overwhelming gratitude. In his rehabilitation and the  gradual reclaiming of his life, we fell in love the this wonderfully benevolent gelding. He gently cared for his 29″ little mini-roommate, Confeddy, kindly cooperated with our efforts to assess and care for him, and provided a subtle daily reminder of the importance of our work…and the value of working with others to achieve successful rescue…and re-homing. This morning, Justin woke up in his new home with Sherri. He is once again in a loving home on Sherri’s beautiful farm with a roomy stall, paddock, fellow horse friends, and a new promise for a beautiful life. We might add that he also woke up in a new blanket to the first of four warm meals (Justin’s teeth had not been cared for, and hay is not an option). Please join us in thanking all those who helped us help Justin…and wish Justin the happy ending that he deserves
