In the happily-ever-after story of Cookie, there was the perfect recipe for a delightful new beginning, and the delicious anticipation of waiting for the ultimate moment of savoring a long-awaited treasure! Karen came to us with a rescue mindset, huge heart, and in pursuit of satisfying a deep longing for a special horse. She… was no stranger to horses, to rescue, or to creating second chances. Karen is one of those rare salt-of-the-earth people who selflessly take care of everyone else first. Cookie was all that she had dreamed of, her favorite breed, a horse custom made just for her but also ideal to share with her family. And then there was Cookie’s loving temperament, kindness, and – as is almost always the case – the gratitude of the rescued. What is readily apparent to us is that Cookie also feels just as strongly about Karen, and prefers Karen to ride her, groom her, and yes…spoil her, more than anyone else.Cookie lights up when she hears Karen’s voice and whinnies the moment that she sees her in the barn aisle. Congratulations to both Karen and Cookie. They definitely deserve one another, and Karen too deserves her special horse!
