Many of our adopters claim that Red Bucket Horses are like potato chips…one is never enough. Apparently, the same is true for our donkeys, as we now have repeated requests for “just one more”. Last year our good friends at Kennedy Pedigo Farms adopted Waffles, a darling (if not a wee bit opinionated) donkey from us to watch over and supervise their magnificent and amazing Home Bred Warm Bloods. Waffles stole their hearts, the hearts of the exquisite horses residing at KPF, and the hearts of their human show clientele. It would make perfect sense that prior to the arrival of their new babies, which will start to foal in the next few weeks, that a new “nanny” would join Waffles in supervising and caring for the youngsters. Little 8 month old Tula, sporting a pink and crystal bow in her show sheened micro-forelock took the short trailer ride to her new home. She was greeted by an opinionated and somewhat outraged Waffles, who as the head of Farm Security was a bit miffed that a new lieutenant was hired without his input. Ryan was there too…and he took her lead rope, and led her into her new life, her second chance…and her happily ever after. Congratulations to Tula, KPF, and …..yes, even to Waffles!
