A perfect gentleman is known for his good manners and the respect given to everyone. Rubix fits the description perfectly! He is well trained, kind hearted and completely delightful!

“Rubix is every girl’s dream horse…tall, dark and handsome,” says Michelle Walker, a volunteer at Red Bucket who loves working with him. Standing at 17 hands tall, Rubix is described by all as loving and affectionate. “He kindly lowers his head next to my side for our quiet walks around the Ranch,” says Michelle. She also calls Rubix the ‘perfect gentleman’ who is adored by many of our wonderful volunteers!

It is hard not to notice Rubix on the Ranch. His huge, noble presence is amazing to behold during workouts with trainer Shona Barnthouse. “Rubix is a horse that makes my day extra special because he’s already trained to perfection!” says Shona.

Living his previous career as a show jumper, this huge, beautiful warmblood is completely professional inside and outside the show ring. Rubix is gracious with all who handle him. Throughout the filming of the upcoming movie “Emma’s Chance,” Rubix was one of the stunt-doubles for Willow who was the star horse in the production. “He loved having a job. It made him feel valued and wanted again.” This polished and exquisitely trained horse became the lesson horse for the star of the movie, Greer Grammer. She gained skill and confidence riding Rubix. Greer adored and loved him! Rubix enjoyed his time as an understudy throughout the four-week filming process.

Jenon Mathes sums it up by saying, “He is a perfect gentleman, a schoolmaster under saddle, and a very proud horse who loves people!” For such a perfectly trained horse, Rubix had been out to pasture for several years when Red Bucket rescued this gem. He was given a healthy amount of nutritious groceries and bounced back to himself very quickly. “So many horses that need homes are surrendered or abandoned. Rubix is super lucky that he found us and we him,” says Susan Peirce. “He is a remarkable horse who deserves someone who will treasure and adore him.”

With great character, elegant beauty, abundant grace and gentleness of spirit, some very lucky person will receive a phenomenal horse and cherished friend. His noble presence, exemplary training and gentlemanly charm will result in a lucky and delighted new owner!
