Every Red Bucket Horse…..every day, is groomed, hoof picked, loved on extensively, exercised, and receives enrichment. Sometimes the enrichment occurs napping in the sunny corner of Kimberly’s arena, often it is a lengthy turn out with a small ” herd “, many times it comes attached to a grazing toy. For Brinker, outside of practicing his numerous tricks, or going on a barn walk, his favorite form of enrichment is the joy of multiple rolls! Due to his consistent poor judgment, Kimberly has taught Brinker to roll on command, on the end of a lunge rope ( This move was originated by the great Disco, who unlike Brinker was obedient enough to not need a rope ). Brinker finds great joy in gleefully rolling back and forth multiple times, grinding as much dust as possible into his gleaming coat. No worries though….Kimberly, who is also Brinker’s Guardian Angel is going to groom him anyway! Interesting how we place such energy in trying to enrich the lives of our horses, when in fact they bring so much enrichment to ours!
