Dr. Adrienne Moore spent the better part of her day (and night) on Friday, helping our horses. She spent considerable time with one of our newest residents, Callum. Dr. Moore stated that there wasn’t a place on Callum’s body that didn’t hurt. To add insult to injury, the poor guy developed an abscess in his front left hoof which made him decide (smart boy) to lay down and relieve his injured right knee from his body weight. We are very pleased that Callum feels safe enough in his stall to lay down… and we can’t help but hover a bit, checking on him while he naps, peeking in to make sure that he is OK. He is eating well and definitely gaining a bit of weight, and we are starting to see glimmers of a little more confidence. Dr. Moore surprised us on Monday by swinging by “on her way home” to treat additional horses….and to check on and treat Callum again. We are very grateful for Dr. Moore’s generosity (and for her generous and thoughtful donations of medicine and supplies). We are also grateful that Callum is safe…and feeling a little better, and that he is developing a wicked sweet tooth
