Her breeder is known for spectacularly bred Quarter Horses….Her sire is a world champion performance horse. Cover Girl is papered, sound, and has almost perfect conformation. She was rescued from an auction that sells horses by the pound…the “customers” are known kill buyers that buy and illegally ship horses across the border for slaughter. She was barely two years old and had already endured being roped and “laid down” and then dragged behind a tractor as part of her “halter training” resulting, rightfully so in a wariness from people and some significant throat latch and ear issues. We aren’t so sure that the “halter breaking” was the least bit effective, as we have spent the last year rewriting a very bad beginning. Head Trainer Kimberly Fohrman has done a remarkable job starting from scratch. Cover Girl leads like a lady and has the ground manners and temperament of the blue blood that she was bred to be. Once Cover Girl celebrated her long awaited third birthday, Kimberly celebrated the day that she has been waiting for…Cover Girl’s first ride. True to her immaculate breeding and the intelligence that accompanies perfection, Kimberly walked…trotted…and loped Cover Girl under saddle for the first time. Cover Girl is PERFECT, and so is Kimberly. Red Bucket is proud of both of them!
