Today we are mourning the loss of our very precious Brimer who we lost this weekend due to colic. While we all agree, that it is appropriate that we are deeply saddened and tearful at his passing, we are also grateful to have been able to know him, help him, and love him. We were fortunate to have been able to rescue him last summer when he was hours away from shipping to slaughter. In the loving embrace of our rescue…and the volunteers who work selflessly to care for our horses he thrived, was valued, and found friends who are heartbroken by losing him. He passed with dignity and the peaceful touch of an adoring family who took responsibility for him in life and ultimately death. He was lovingly named after his guardians who cherished him and wiped away the stigma of “unwanted”. His BFF and paddock mate, 30 year old Styles is also grieving a darling little grey Arabian with a HUGE heart and the whinny of a kitten. As is our custom, will will toast Brimer and say a final good-bye Saturday evening at 5:15 pm. Styles and his friends welcome all who wish to attend.
