Klondike, who has disarmed us with his adorable nature, gentleness and friendly demeanor, was completely unconcerned when we bridled him, slipped a saddle on his back, or led him to the arena. As a matter of fact, he pretty much did not stop eating his dinner and continued to chew nonchalantly even after we swung up on his back. Suffice it to say that he is by no means sensitive to the leg, nor is he by any stretch of the imagination forward or overly enthusiastic. He did, however, eye the slow feeder at the end of the arena and set off in a straight line…stopping when he reached it…lowered his head, and continued his supper service with little concern for the brief interruption. We can’t say enough nice things about this marvelous mule, and we do not imagine that he will be with us for much longer. Klondike is interviewing prospective adopters…and only the most adoring need apply.
