Lulu’s recovery from a wicked virus

We are horse savers, servant leaders….care givers. This last week we let out a slow exhale.
Our little appy Lulu has recovered from a wicked virus. For four days, nearly around the clock, we cared for her, giving her medicine, syringing liquids and monitoring her temperature. She was top of mind and every hour she was checked, caressed and coaxed with every trick that we have up our red sleeve to swallow water, sweet tea or a watery senior mash. We are happy to report that today she is laying down again, not because she is sick, but because she is well! She is out of her sick stall and back with her bff Sawyer ( making them both happy ). She is enjoying her sun baths, and being alive. As we stood, enjoying watching her enjoy her life, we marveled that this pony recently abandoned to walk the streets and fend for herself, instead found her way to a place where she is cared for, loved and where people worry when she is sick. Next week some friends will come out and meet her with the goal of perhaps taking her home. We are so very glad thatLulu will have many more happy days filled with the joy of a sunny turnout…and people who care.
