The donkeys of Red Bucket lined up at the east paddock fence…yes, there was pushing and a bit of jostling…and allegedly a small infraction of a nip. Coco was nearly written up for shoving her neighbor (oh, and for kicking…but that part was an accident), all for the purpose of watching McGarrah and Kami’s first turn out! There was so much rubber necking going on that we may have to call Dr. Moore out to assess the entire donkey herd for whiplash! The donkeys haven’t had this much entertainment since Kolcheck chased Winni into the water trough. McGarrah down played the whole episode until she was returned to her stall and promptly had a small dilly of a filly tantrum (before collapsing under her misters for a nap). Kami continued to do everything in her ability to finally touch Coco and Petunia’s outstretched muzzle before Marlee gave the donkey’s a final warning. The Red Riding Hoods standing on the sidelines had a great laugh and declared the first turn out to be utterly red-donk-u-lous! Thank you to all who donated in saving our pregnant mares…McGarrah and Kami thank you…as do the donkeys, and those of us who serve them. Your continued support is appreciated!
