Spring has arrived early at Red Bucket! Stella and the Red Riding Hoods proudly present Trese RB. Her name is pronounced “Tresa” as she is lovingly named after our beloved veterinarian and benevolent friend and supporter, Dr. David Treser. Had she been a boy, we would have named him Doc T…either way, we wanted to thank and honor Dr. Treser in the way that best represents our gratitude and affection…a name. The RB is a distinction that all of our foals are titled with and the RB signifies the promise of Red Bucket and a subtle reminder of what almost was. Stella was rescued from a slaughter auction where she had been knowingly bred and sold pregnant to increase the price that she would bring due to her weight. She is borderline feral and carries with her the emotional scars of a good many years of abuse. For the last two months we have gently invited her to trust, heal, and reclaim her life. This morning (after 3 nights of foal watching) a fiery little filly was born…she stood and nursed within an hour, exchanged intimate little nickers with her mama within two hours of birth, and in just shy of 3 hours was not only playing but executing flawless lead changes! Little Trese is safe and will attend Red Bucket Charm Farm and grow into a happy, healthy foal…and once trained will realize the third part of our mission…a loving forever home! Warm thanks to all of our friends and supporters. Our beautiful work and Trese’s life is possible because of you!
