At Red Bucket we value and respect life…and we value and respect all of the desperate and deserving animals that come to us for salvation, safety, and the promise of a second chance. Darragh and her precious filly Gigi were rescued from slaughter with two other mare and foal pairs. Darragh, who had sustained lacerations at the auction yard, has visibly healed and is now healing on the inside as she learns to live in a loving environment rather than having to survive in a hostile and uncertain world. Gigi is an absolute joy and is nursing from her mother – who now has ample milk – and darting about playing with little Sparrow. At night she lays down with her mother and can truly rest…because she is safe and she knows it.
