We are struggling to find words profound enough to express the grief that is engulfing us. Last night Haze lost the incredibly painful and galant battle with laminitis……. and we lost Haze. With his loss, he leaves a legacy of strong character, kindness and a sunny disposition in spite of relentless pain. While he came to us as an unwanted horse, he left us treasured, loved and very much wanted. While our hearts are broken, our eyes are swollen Haze’s memory will serve to fuel us in serving the forgotten, the discarded. and the tormented. Haze was grateful every day for the care and love that we were privileged to give him. Every day that he was with us was a gift ,  in the end the the final gift that we gave him was the gift of mercy. As is our custom, we will toast him Sunday evening at 5:00 pm at his stall next to his friends, Hobby, Spice, and Nalah all of his human his friends are welcome….he will deserves to be grieved and celebrated, we will do both.
