21 Additional Horses Saved:

Red Bucket Equine Rescue takes the “Rescue” part of our name VERY seriously. Our deeply held belief is that we need to do our part, then stretch just a little bit more, and then…save one more.

The Sunday after we successfully rescued our recent 19 slaughter bound (with 13 pregnant mares) horses, we were alerted to an ADDITIONAL 9 pregnant, registered Quarter Horse mares and 3 little fillies that were dumped at the kill auction by their breeder. In a coordinated and collaborative rescue effort with our respected rescue colleagues, Shirley Puga and Marlene Dodge, we have been successful in saving an ADDITIONAL 9 pregnant mares and 3 orphan fillies (about 4 months) from slaughter. All of the horses are SAFE, and are in the process of being moved to their new homes. Suffice it to say that this recent unplanned activity has been enormously encompassing of resources. We seldom use FaceBook to fundraise, as our popular page was designed to connect you our friends with our horses and their stories. Given the intense swirl of our recent rescue activity amounting to a total of 53 saved lives we sure do need your help. Would you please share this post, encourage your friends to support our meaningful work…AND please help us by joining our “Drop In The Bucket” campaign and help us continue our work by going to our website and donating a minimum of $5 a month. We are rounding up 5,000 horse lovers who are willing to make a small reoccurring gift….and support our ongoing work. We appreciate any donations toward this rescue effort, and thank you on behalf of the horses. We will keep you posted.
