In many of our childhood memories, horses were cherished and highly valued. Most of the Red Bucket volunteers who serve our horses today, remember a time when the horse was viewed as special….treasured. The sad reality of today, finds our American horses overbred, commoditized, and way too often homeless. We are constantly shocked by the number of horses who are literally dumped, starved, abandoned and neglected. We had a bit of faith restored, when Dublin’s very responsible owner approached us about surrendering him. He has been one of the lucky ones,he has been fed, groomed and cared for….he has been loved too…enough, to where his owner who recognized that he was the wrong fit for her needs wanted to guarantee him the promise of a “forever home” and a RBER contract that will ensure that he will always be safe and loved. Our hats are off to all those who take responsibility to provide for their horses, and do not see them as disposable. Welcome Dublin, you are one of the lucky ones!!!
