Red Bucket Equine Rescue # 201- Petunia

Tis the season….naught or nice??? While we will be the first to admit that donkeys are delightfully naughty…and we adore them for it, we don’t think for a second that Santa would bring a donkey a …piece of coal. Baby Petunia has come to the security and safety of Red Bucket both injured and untrained….brought to us by a Guardian Angel of sorts, who wanted to ensure that she would be protected for life. She will be. There isn’t a naughty bone in this little “Donkettes” body. She is perhaps the sweetest and most adorable cotton ball-kitty-lamb that we have ever had the privilege to rescue. Within a day, she was calling for us, within two days she learned to lead, and by three days she allowed us to pick all four feet. Our only real complaint, is that she is so adorable, cuddly, and soft that we find it hard to leave her stall! Today, Petunia will meet Coco, and these two little “co-eds” will begin “Red Bucket Charm Farm”  under the tutelage of Lauren. Like all the animals who come to us for refuge, training, and a second chance, Petunia will one day go “home” and realize the life that she and all of our equine deserve. For the time being, she is making our holiday spirit bright, and our hearts grateful that  we can continue to save and serve. Many thanks to all of you who support our meaningful work, we can’t do it without your support! Welcome Petunia!
