Red Bucket Rescue #191 – Daisy

She was scheduled to be euthanized Tuesday by Animal Control…she was out of time, out of options….and we aren’t sure if she had ever had any luck, but if she had, she had been out of it for a very, very long time. She was picked up as a “stray”, which meant that she was dumped, but only after they had used up every bit of her. Wrung her out like a damp towel, leaving her dry, depleted, and hopeless. It was no surprise that in addition to her poor body condition that she bore the all too familiar scars of abuse, and painful evidence of being repeatedly roped….violated and victimized. Yet, her eye is soft, her manners are kind and she, like so many of the abused and rescued, is grateful. Hands have joined across the state to offer her a second chance, instead of being destroyed…..she has been rescued. Her name is Daisy, and underneath the exterior of prior pain is a beautiful heart, a stunning face, and thanks to the linked arms of multiple rescuers, Daisy’s days will bring more than just hope, but a future. Many thanks to all who help us help the horses, it really does take a village, and a conscious. For all of you who contribute to rescuing, Daisy and the countless others who have been saved, and the many who wait for their chance, thank you.
