In the middle of a record number of adoptions (yes, stay tuned…there are more to come) and the celebrated birth of our newest little fire-plug of a filly, Trese, we pause to celebrate the “why” behind Red Bucket’s success…the strength of the vision and the people who serve. This week we are celebrating the gift that is Jenon Mathes. Jenon began her volunteering with one simple question: “How can I serve?”, and she has lived it…embodied it…and inspired it with every action, every touch, and every dedicated moment of service. From flipping burgers in the early days to becoming our Breezeway Coordinator, training and gentling our feral horses and youngsters, teaching and mentoring our volunteers, and serving on the Red Bucket Leadership Team, Jenon is one of the strongest examples of the Red Bucket culture. She wears her compassion like a second skin and and walks softly amongst us, leaving footprints that are difficult to fill. It is with an abundance of love, admiration and respect that we wish our dear friend a happy anniversary…and thank her for making such a difference for our horses and volunteers!
