Adorable, kind-hearted, super-cute and completely charming! Meet this month’s sweetheart of a mare, Roxy! She is as winsome in personality as she is vibrant in color, an Appaloosa POA with an amazing disposition and a willing heart. It is impossible to comprehend that this sweet and beautiful horse was found wandering the streets of Riverside. She had been cruelly abandoned, seriously neglected and obviously unwanted. After being picked up by Animal Control, the first call they made was to Red Bucket Equine Rescue. It was beyond belief that she had been turned out onto the streets in such a heartless manner, without a thought or care as to what would become of her. Despite the way she must have been treated in the past, Roxy craved human attention and touch.
 
Thankfully a compassionate Riverside Animal Control officer who was captivated by Roxy’s darling personality and sweet disposition made the call that saved her life. Without hesitation, Red Bucket Equine Rescue answered the distress call and picked up this lovely young mare. As she hopped onto the trailer it became apparent that Roxy was going for the best ride of her life…to a place where she would be nurtured, loved and cared for in her new beginning. Roxy hit the ground at Red Bucket ready and eager to learn. She has been in training under saddle continuously 5 days a week for the past 75 days with Red Bucket Intern, Lauren. Roxy is enjoying her training, and she is smart, willing, a quick learner and retains what she is taught. Currently, she is ridden western with a snaffle bit and enjoys and excels in arena work. Roxy stands well in the cross ties and loves her daily grooming sessions. It is during these moments that her sweet and cuddly side most often appears. Roxy loves a good hug and wants to rub all over you with her head and muzzle.
 
She is full of personality and life! Her weekend turnouts with good friend Lulu by her side are playful and happy moments. They enjoy each other’s company while joyfully romping around kicking up their heels together in glee. She has shown incredible growth and proven to be a fantastic horse since coming to Red Bucket. Sound, healthy and with great conformation, she is ready and eager to find her new and forever home. She will make someone a charming companion with her winning ways and lovable personality to go with her captivating and colorful good looks. Roxy is attractive to behold and a pleaser in the arena. Put them both together, and she is a complete package waiting for the right person to come along and start a new beginning together of many wonderful tomorrows!
