Red Bucket Forever Found Home# 175 – Champ and Karen!

…thday the day that they are adopted, as that very special day represents a new beginning and the first day in a family that has committed to loving, care-taking, and treasuring that horse forever. Champ, a stunning registered Paint, was rescued at a slaughter auction, barely avoiding a horrifying and brutal end. Clearly he had no value to whoever had dropped him off, as he was skinny with uncared for feet and a dejected and frightened eye. He was…

…king with others to achieve successful rescue…and re-homing. This morning, Justin woke up in his new home with Sherri. He is once again in a loving home on Sherri’s beautiful farm with a roomy stall, paddock, fellow horse friends, and a new promise for a beautiful life. We might add that he also woke up in a new blanket to the first of four warm meals (Justin’s teeth had not been cared for, and hay is not an option). Please join us in thanking all…

Striker and Rexanne…Happily Ever After

Before she committed, she was committed. As a new volunteer, way back in the very beginning of Red Bucket, Rexanne rolled up her sleeves and offered to help. We were definitely busy and possibly bordering on overwhelmed when our little grass roots rescue grew overnight, assimilating 42 new horses in varying stages of injury, severe starvation, and neglect. Twenty two of those horses were stallions, among them Striker. Striker came to us with a gi…

Red Bucket Equine Rescue Forever Home Found #169- Cornelia

She came to us a slaughter bound and terrified pony and left swathed in a new leather halter wrapped fluffy sheepskin. She now boasts a self confidence, a gleaming coat, and a bit of entitlement that accompanies her newly found sweet tooth! Her new peppermint and vanilla striped lead rope was gently held by Louise, who has been waiting to take her knew little…

Red Bucket Equine Rescue #189- Deaglan

…ll be floated. He seems to have thoroughly enjoyed his spa day….a bit of a mane pulling (with a humane solo comb, of course), a whisker trim, and a “detailing” that involved both elbow grease and a good deal of product. He will continue to settle in and relax, and next week will have a complete physical exam, prior to any work…or expectation. Certainly it goes without the need for great elaboration, the level of great offense and outrage that we f…
