Red Bucket Equine Rescue Forever Home Found #252 – Cooper

When a heartbroken Phyllis reached out to us, she needed our help…and fast. Phyllis had just lost her cherished 27-year-old mare, Annie, leaving Annie’s soulmate Caesar alone, grieving, and inconsolable. We jumped to action right away; Phyllis submitted an adoption application, we completed our background check and home visit, and interviewed Phyllis on Caesar’s needs and temperament. Within seven … Read More

Red Bucket Equine Rescue Adoption: Pilot

Sometimes the road to forever is long, winding, and sometimes….broken, but our promises never are. Cassandra waited a good many years to bring Pilot home, and these days Pilot is waking up at home, pinching himself! Cassandra, adopter of Josephine (her heart) and long time supporter of Red Bucket’s lifesaving work has been inundating us (we love it!) with videos, … Read More

Kiki can’t stop smiling!

Meet Red Bucket Equine Rescue #394 Sylvia’s Hope

The horses…they are always deserving. Sometimes we say “yes” because we just can’t say “no”. Sometimes we say “yes” because the people are deserving. For over a year and a half, a Good Samaritan…good person…fed a starving, stranger’s horse. At the livestock auction, they stripped Baby Walker from his mothers side intending to sell and … Read More

Cooper’s Herd

In our dedication to continue to enrich the lives of our Treasured Residents, we persist in building herds that allow for and foster the mind, body and spirit…and…the horses’ innate requirement … Read More

Brodie Update

We sure do love getting photos of our treasured Red Bucket horses from their loving forever families. Hard to imagine that this impeccably cared for boy was once slaughter bound, terrified, and unwanted. Today he and his two “brothers”, also adopted from Red Bucket, are cherished, adored, and very much wanted! Oh, and yes…they get turn-down service at bedtime!

The Honor of Serving

We are pausing for a moment to reflect upon the honor of serving our treasured residents, valued team members, and community. The work of rescue is arduous, filled with long hours, sleepless nights, weary bodies, and unquestionable heartbreak. With summer winding down we have still-vivid memories of steamy days of scrubbing and refilling stock tanks, wiping down auto waterers, and … Read More
